• Mid-December to April is peak season, with the highest rates; late spring and early fall are usually much cheaper.
• June through November is Atlantic hurricane season — travel insurance and flexible bookings are worth considering, especially in late summer and fall.
• All-inclusive rates can look high but may include meals, drinks and activities — compare the total cost of your stay, not just the room.
• Check for resort fees and local taxes, which some islands add at checkout.
