Late May–September is the main season; June and September are a little quieter. Most park roads close to cars from roughly November to April, and most in-park lodges close for winter.
West Yellowstone is the most popular gateway; Gardiner suits the north side; in-park lodges are most convenient but must be booked far ahead.
